Developing Children's Talents

In what areas do we help children grow through clubs and guided activities?

At Unicorn School, we believe that every child is unique—with their own pace, talents, and interests—and that the school's role is to discover, support, and nurture these gifts. The clubs we offer are not just after-school activities, but an important counterbalance to the typical school day. They are a place where children can recognize their own strengths, learn new things, gain experience, and find joy in creativity, physical activity, and discovering the world together.

Below are the main areas we focus on in our clubs—and what we aim to offer children through them:

1. Creativity and the Arts

Art Club, Ceramics Workshop, Montessori Workshop

In these workshops, children have the space to express themselves, develop their imagination, and refine their fine motor skills. Using various techniques (painting, clay modeling, Montessori materials), they learn to experiment, combine colors and materials, tackle artistic challenges, and transform ideas into tangible forms. Every piece of artwork is a small victory that builds self-confidence and a connection to creativity.

2. Movement, Physical Fitness, and Health

Yoga for Kids, Health Exercises, Dance, Hobby Horsing

Movement is a natural need for children—through our movement classes, we promote physical coordination, balance, spatial awareness, fine and gross motor skills, flexibility, and conscious body control.

  • Yoga for Kids teaches calmness, breathing exercises, body awareness, and relaxation.
  • Health Exercises help build healthy posture, prevent poor movement patterns, and emphasize proper movement habits.
  • Dance develops a sense of rhythm, musicality, teamwork, and the courage to perform.
  • Hobby horsing (jumping with a "horse toy") offers a combination of movement, play, and an effective way for children to burn off energy, with a touch of competitiveness and fairy-tale-like playfulness.

3. Language, Communication, and Speech

"First Step" English, Speech Therapy Club, Sensory Games

In today's world, knowing a foreign language is a significant advantage. In the "First Step" English" club, children are introduced to English in a playful way—through songs, poems, games, and age-appropriate activities.

The speech therapy club provides targeted support to children who need to practice pronunciation, correct articulation patterns, or language skills.

Sensory Play is a club that focuses on connecting sensory perceptions—touch, sight, and hearing—which strengthens intellectual development, attention, and learning abilities in everyday, artistic, and physical contexts.

4. Music, Rhythm, and Expression

Music Club

Music plays a profound role in a child's development—it fosters auditory sensitivity, rhythm, memory, a sense of rhythm, and the expression of emotions. In our music club, children sing, play simple musical instruments, listen to various genres, and learn to perceive music as a means of communication and enjoyment. In this way, they develop their musical understanding and skills and learn to work in a group through musical collaboration.

5. Development of the Senses, Thinking, and Fine Motor Skills

Montessori Workshop, Sensory Play, Art Activities

These activities focus on fine motor skills, manipulation of materials, stereognostic perception (recognizing objects by touch), sorting, sorting by characteristics, and working with textures, shapes, and proportions. All of this strengthens sensory perception, concentration, patience, and the integration of perception with movement. Working in the Montessori spirit also fosters the child's inner motivation to explore.

6. Social Skills, Collaboration, and Self-Awareness

In all our clubs, we emphasize collaboration, respect, mutual support, and empathy. Children learn to wait their turn, share, communicate, listen, help one another, and respect differences. They also learn to overcome their own fears and anxieties—for example, when performing at a music concert or in a dance routine—and gain a sense of accomplishment when they achieve a goal together.
