How We Teach English to Children at School

Naturally, Playfully, and Joyfully

At Unicorn School's preschool and kindergarten, we believe that children learn a foreign language best when they encounter it naturally—in everyday situations, through play, movement, and communication. That's why English is part of our children's everyday lives—not just a separate class, but a natural part of their day.

Our English instruction takes the form of a regular language class as part of our structured activities, led by an instructor with teaching experience and expertise in working with preschoolers. Here, children are introduced to the language through games, songs, movement, stories, and art activities. The goal is not to "drill vocabulary," but to foster a positive relationship with English so that children can enjoy understanding and communicating in the language.

English as a Natural Part of the Day

Children encounter English not only during the club but also throughout the day. Teachers incorporate short phrases and expressions into everyday situations—for example, during morning greetings (Good morning!), at mealtimes (Let's eat! Bon appétit!), during games (Come here, please!), or while cleaning up (Clean up, clean up!).

Thanks to this, children hear the language in various contexts and gradually come to understand it naturally, without even realizing they are "learning."

It is precisely this method that mimics the natural process of acquiring a native language—children listen, imitate, associate words with actions and emotions, and gradually build a foundation for future language confidence.

Playful Learning Through All the Senses

Our lessons are based on the principles of multisensory learning—children perceive language through hearing, sight, movement, and touch. We combine English with music, art, and movement. For example, during the song Head, shoulders, knees, and toes, children dance, point to body parts, and associate words with movements. While creating art, they practice colors and shapes and name the objects they make themselves.

This playful approach helps children actively engage, feel confident speaking, and respond spontaneously. In a safe and supportive environment, they let go of their inhibitions, and the language becomes a natural part of their communication.

Our Goal

We want children at Unicorn School to start school with the understanding that English is something natural, familiar, and fun. We want them to feel confident about a foreign language because they already know that they can understand and speak it without stress—with a smile and through play.

We believe that natural exposure to the language from an early age is the best foundation for future success—not only in school, but also in life.
