First Day

Dear Parents,

We are very excited that you'll be joining us in just a few moments.

Here you'll find a summary of information regarding your child's first day at our Sluníčková Preschool, and at the end, a link to the forms you'll need to fill out. These forms must be brought in no later than your child's first day.

Important Information

Preschool Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (children must arrive by 9:00 a.m.), followed by the afternoon club from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Twigsee preschool app allows you to follow what's happening at the preschool, view absence notifications, make up sessions, and manage billing. Everything is displayed in simple posts. Please make sure your notifications are turned on so you don't miss photos from the classroom or important information regarding the preschool's operations.

• For communication via WhatsApp/SMS—for operational matters (e.g., changes such as late arrivals, early departures, doctor's appointments, leaving after lunch, or pickup by a "non-parent"), please text the preschool's phone number. We'll respond as soon as we can; we may be attending to the children at the time, but we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
• You can discuss all other matters directly with the director (veronika@slunickova.cz), 728 666 283, until 5:00 PM. If you can't reach us by 5:00 PM and are more available in the evening, please send an email.

Doctor's notes/Lunch Cancellations: Reporting Absences in Twigsee, Canceling Meals, Make-up Days - Make-up days are not entered into the app!!Nursery Access - Upon enrollment, you'll receive a chip (with a refundable deposit of 200 CZK) that grants you access to the grounds and the nursery itself.

• If your child arrives late (e.g., due to a doctor's appointment) and you'd like them to have lunch, do not cancel their meal in Twigsee; instead, call the preschool to let us know your child will arrive later, and we'll make sure to include them.

• Please cancel your child's attendance in advance whenever possible when they will be absent from the preschool. This gives other children a chance to use their meal credits :).

• We bill for meals retroactively; you can cancel a meal by 3:30 p.m. on the previous business day.
• If your child gets sick in the morning, you can pick up their meal at the preschool after calling the preschool by 9:00 a.m. to let us know. You can only pick up the meal between 11:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. due to the quiet time period starting at 12:00 p.m. For hygiene reasons, we'll pack everything in our eco-friendly containers for a fee of 10.

• You must submit a meal substitution request by 3:30 p.m. on the previous business day via the web interface - https://www.twigsee.com/
• If you don't submit the request by 3:30 p.m., the substitution won't be reflected in Twigsee.

What to bring on the first day? (Everything must be labeled)

• Water bottle
• A change of clothes in quantities at your discretion (underwear, socks, T-shirt, sweatpants/leggings, sweatshirt, hat)—clothing that children can put on by themselves.
• Rain pants and jacket (softshell, rubberized)
• Rubber boots (may be left at the preschool)
• Slip-on slippers or non-slip socks
• Sturdy shoes for the forest/outdoors
• A favorite toy—especially during the adjustment period, as it helps create a sense of security.
  
• If you don't want to label items, here's an option for name stickers that are machine-washable and dryer-safe

What doesn't belong at preschool:

• Candy—We celebrate birthdays with fruit platters, and the children love them. When it's your child's birthday and you'd like to prepare a small treat for the children, a fruit platter is the best choice!
• The children will have a great day with a celebration and a gift from us. Thank you very much in advance for respecting this rule, and we trust that the children will enjoy large cakes in the comfort of their own families.
• Costumes (especially dresses)—we have "Costume Monday Mornings," when the children can enjoy wearing their costumes
